Does God Change the Old Heart of the Believer, or Put a New Motive Beside the Old One?
He gives the believer on Christ a new heart altogether, which means a new will, purpose, motive, spirit, nature—in short, a new life. His own Holy Spirit becomes the possession of the believer, and in the measure in which the latter yields and surrenders himself to God's Holy Spirit is he enabled to live a life of victory over sin of every kind, every day. It will be helpful to read 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 5:16, 17 (R. V.).--Anon
